Jane Mendenhall has served as Christ Church Organist since 2011.  Her Master's Degree is from Lewis and Clark College, where she studied organ with Dr. Lee Garrett. She was a performing participant, accepted by successful audition, in the Summer Institute for French Organ Studies 2001.  Another performing summer institute, also after successful audition, took Jane to Boston, where she performed and participated in The Boston Conservatory Master Class on four highly regarded Boston area pipe organs, and led by Dr. James David Christie and Marie Claire Alain.  She participated in master classes with both Dr. David Higgs of Eastman School of Music and Harald Vogel of Germany.  Jane has performed alone and with others on different Portland area organs, including the Casavant at Lewis and Clark College and the organ at Christ Church.  Jane is a seasoned accompanist, sought after for her musical, nuanced, sensitive, and facile playing.   She has performed with orchestras, choirs, small groups, and soloists.   Jane was the featured organ soloist in the Saint Saens Third Symphony, (the "organ symphony"), with the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra, in Spring 2017.
